Key Words Concept

Theory

The articles express how Biomimicry has been showcased in many unique ways. It is the concept in which the production of materials, its structural integrity and the systems incorporated within its design are based off biological entities and processes. Furthermore, the concept of biomimicry is invaluable to Architecture as it contains many natural, yet, structurally sound designs in which are also self-sustaining. Utilising and mimicking the biological processes of both plants and animals, architecture could be transmogrified into a part of the environment succinctly synthesising the urban lifestyle of humanity with its surrounding ecosystem.

With my main concept being Biomimicry, I was able to further deduce 5 key themes associated with this concept from the article.

Organic
Sustainability
Light-weight
Permeability
Natural

These 5 key words all resonate with the main concept. Thus the theme:

Biomimicry transmogrifies a structure, by allowing the natural environment to permeate its form through the incorporation of light-weight, organic and sustainable components.
